Maureen Merigan

Maureen A. Merigan of Belmont and Marshfield, died peacefully on November 6, 2022. Beloved daughter of the late Thomas F. and Mary (Sullivan) Merigan. Devoted sister of Patricia Noonan of Belmont, Margaret Lightfoot, Thomas F. Merigan Jr. and his wife Christine all of Marshfield. Loving aunt of C. Brendan Noonan and his wife Kim, Mary Beth Goulding and her husband Michael, Allison MacGilvray, Thomas F. Merigan III and his wife Carolyn. Adored grand aunt of Katie, Lauren, Christina, Brendan, Caroline, Kara, Megan, Marisa, Sean, Molly, Lindsay, Tommy and the late Maeve. 

Maureen was affectionately known by her family as “Momo”. Born in East Boston, a graduate of Rosary Academy and Boston City Hospital School of Nursing class of 1956. She worked as a dedicated registered nurse for over 60 years, retiring at the age of 80. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially at the beach in Marshfield. 

Funeral from the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home 36 Trapelo Rd, Belmont, Saturday Nov. 12 at 9:00 AM, followed by Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church 130 Common St, Belmont at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Friday 4:00-7:00 PM. Interment will follow in Highland Meadow Cemetery, Belmont. In lieu of flowers please send donations in Maureen’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverley Oaks Rd. Waltham, MA 02452.
