William Carter Jr Obituary

On Thursday, June 6, 2019, William (Bill) Henry Carter Jr., at the age of 77, died peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones due to heart complications. He was the son of William Henry,  and Dorothy (Kefalas) Carter.

Bill was born on January 21, 1942 at Boston City Hospital. He grew up with his brother and sisters, Dick, Cynthia, and Ann in Allston and Waltham, MA. He graduated Waltham H.S. in 1959 and shortly after enlisted in the military. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1979. He traveled the world during his service in the U.S., England, Spain, and Vietnam. After the military he took over his father’s trucking company, E.B. Fraser, working closely with family and friends. Following that he worked at the Hanscom Air Force Base Commissary where he made close friends.

After Bill’s Father passed, he took on his Dad’s role at The First Congregational Church of Waverly. He found a new calling. He joined The Plymouth Congregational Church in October, 1999. He was a prominent member, teacher, and student of the church.

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary (Fernandes) Carter; six daughters Wendy, Kathleen and husband Brian Arenstam, Chris, Noelle and husband Wayne Chin, Anna and husband Michael Kinyon, Stephanie and husband David Howard; and two son’s Vincent and wife Cathy (Reis) Carter, and Keith Richmond and wife Rebeka Markus; His first son, William Carter III, sadly passed away at a young age. Bill also has 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home 36 Trapelo Road Belmont on Friday June 14th from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Plymouth Congregational Church  582 Pleasant Street Belmont on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Mt Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
