Nancy M. Carney

Nancy M. Carney of Watertown, formerly of Cambridge and Belmont passed away peacefully on November 9th 2022. Beloved daughter of the late Timothy F. and Mildred (McMakin) Carney. Predeceased by her siblings Robert J., James T. and Jane M. McCarthy, nephew Kevin Carney and brother in-law Jon McCarthy. Survived by her Sisters-in-law Lorraine C. Carney of Watertown and Margaret “Sue” Carney of Browns Mills, NJ. Nancy is also survived by her nieces and nephews Maureen “Mo” Collins (Carroll, ME), Colleen (Roebling, NJ), Eileen (Brownsmills, NJ), Sean (Brownsmills, NJ), Kathleen “Katy” Carney (Moorestown, NJ), and Michele Barden (Massachusetts) and her lifelong friend and  travel partner Kathryn “Kay” Wheelock. Nancy worked 41 years for the City Of Cambridge and retired in 1993. She traveled to many places over the years and was an avid sports fan. Visiting hours will be held in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home,  36 Trapelo Rd, Belmont on Monday 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter’s Church, 100 Concord Ave, Cambridge on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will follow in Cambridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Nancy.
