Deborah Welch Leone

Deborah Welch-Leone, age 72 of Belmont, MA passed away of natural causes in her home March 28 2022. She was born on October 6, 1949 in Essex, CT to Harper and Julia Welch and spent her grade school years in Montpelier, VT before moving to Cape Elizabeth, ME for her high school years. Deborah was a private person but enjoyed the company of her loving family and socializing with friends at The Plough and Stars in Cambridge, MA, which was also the place where she met her husband, Robert. She was married to Robert Leone for 16 years before his passing in June of 1999. He loved her for the calming effect she had on him and they shared many laughs and lots of love during their time together. More recently, she could often be found with her nose in a book or enjoying the unexpected beauty in everyday things. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Evan and Jennifer of Walpole, MA and her two grandchildren Olivia and Joseph; her brother and sister-in-law Ren and Joan Welch of Temecula, CA; sister and brother-in-law Sue and Hank McCauley of Tucson, AZ. She will be greatly missed by many. A small service to celebrate her life will be held April 9th, 2022 at 10am at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
