Born in Boston on May 29, 1926, Mrs. Morgan attended Boston University before marrying in 1945. Mrs. Morgan gave birth to and raised her six children in both Framingham, MA and Marshfield Hills, MA.  She also lived in Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Ontario and Chicago, IL before retiring to her childhood home in Boston in 1994. Her first job was making gas masks for the war effort in 1943. Mrs. Morgan also worked at the Marshfield Town Clerk’s office for many years, managing town elections and supervising federal and state census enumerations for the town. Later, Mrs. Morgan worked as a Unit Coordinator at Montreal General Hospital. Mrs. Morgan loved the beach and could often be found sunbathing at Massachusetts beaches in Marshfield, Scituate, Provincetown and Ipswich. Although Mrs. Morgan had no Greek ancestry, she loved and embraced Greek culture, it’s music, traditional dances, food and language. In her later years she learned to read, write and speak Greek, which she put to good use on her visits to Greece. Mrs. Morgan was a cheerful, warm, tender and loving mother and grandmother, smart, generous to those in need, and always full of fun. According to one family member, “Every day with Joan was like Christmas”. She will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by family and friends alike.
